REST API · 0.1.0

Read published content with anonymous GET requests

No API key is needed. Article text retains its publication language; the page lang parameter changes only the interface.

  1. 1

    Query recent news

    bash
    curl 'https://secnews.today/api/v1/items?mode=selected&window=24h&limit=20'

mode accepts selected/all and window accepts 24h/7d. q searches titles and summaries; domain selects a security focus. For pagination, keep filters unchanged and pass page.nextCursor as cursor.

  2. 2

    Read the API definition

    https://secnews.today/openapi-v1.json
    Open OpenAPI 3.1
  3. 3

Read daily, weekly and monthly digests

    https://secnews.today/api/v1/dailies/latest
    https://secnews.today/api/v1/weeklies/latest
    https://secnews.today/api/v1/monthlies/latest

Request the index without /latest to obtain keys for older editions. latest returns 404 when no edition has been published.

Synchronization and errors

bash
curl 'https://secnews.today/api/v1/selected/snapshot?fields=default'
# Use the returned cursor with /api/v1/selected/changes?cursor=...

Complete snapshot pages using nextPage, then fetch changes with cursor and apply both upsert and remove. On 409, restart the snapshot; do not ignore removals. 400 means invalid parameters and 503 means temporarily unavailable. A 200 response with no items means no matching published content, not necessarily a collection failure.
